11. If you have something to give, give it away! Give people a reason to visit your site which goes beyond the typical content. If you’re a designer, give away a free HTML design or Wordpress skin. Are you a programmer? Make a cool FireFox plugin. Are you an expert at XX? Give away a free 8-page report, in PDF style, called “Secrets of XX Revealed”. The point is, by giving away something, even something small, you can create buzz.
12. Start real relationships with bloggers in your niche. One of the biggest misconceptions new bloggers have is that because you are online, somehow the way business is conducted has changed. It hasn’t. Just as in the offline business world, much of what is really going on in the blogging world takes place between colleagues. That means that the most helpful tips, links, assistance, and so on are given on the basis of a preexisting friendship or relationship between you and another blogger. So after spending some time getting a lay of the land within your blogging niche, send a few relevant emails out to other bloggers within your community. Let them know that you are an avid reader of their site (and actually be one), and then ask advice, suggest something, etc. The key is to: 1) Not ask for a link, and 2) Have something interesting to say. Networking (which is just a fancy way of saying making friends) is maybe the single most important difference between an average and a successful blog. So do it.
Link Building13. Submit your blog to blog directories. Incoming links help your site to get spidered, indexed and ranked better by search engines. Conveniently, there are many blog directories that specialize in categorizing and linking to quality blogs. You can find a comprehensive list of them at the RSSTop55.
14. Submit your blog to general web directories such as DMOZ and Aviva. Links from DMOZ (The Open Directory), Yahoo! Directory, Aviva Directory and other quality general web directories provide you with what are considered “trusted links” by the search engines, a key to ranking well. Search engines value links from quality web directories because it means that your site has been checked and selected by a human being. But not all web directories are equal, and you want to be careful when submitting your site to not just throw good money after bad links. Another nice thing about the top web directories is that they will send you relevant traffic, just like a search engine.
15. Leave your blog’s URL as your signature when you participate in forums. When you make a good comment on a forum, people will not only remember your URL and begin to associate it with quality information, but also a number of forum readers looking for more information will click the link and visit your site.

Social Bookmarking (aka Going Viral)
6. Put chicklets in your template. Chicklets are ugly, and having too many “If you liked this story, submit it to Delicious” lines in a post looks plain spammy. That said, when you have a top-notch post that you hope is going to go viral, there is no better way to boost your votes than to add the Delicious link and Digg button right onto the post. When used correctly, chicklets can get you the coveted ‘double vote’ (when visitors who came to your post via Delicious, for example, then drop you a Digg vote once they are on the site). When you consider the tens of thousands of visitors that visit a good linkbait, those ‘double votes’ can be enough to carry you to the popular page of a second site, just by leveraging the traffic of the first.
7. Be your own promoter: Seed your best posts. Hundreds of thousands of content hungry readers are using social bookmarking sites every day, and many track specific keywords. By seeding your best articles, and by using a mixture of both popular and specific keywords as tags, you can bring a new crop of readers to your site on a weekly basis. The best way to select the tags for your article is to think of social bookmarking sites as a form of search engine. By including both broad keywords and narrower keywords you are certain to get a blend of both low quality/high volume readers (AdSense baby!) and high quality/low volume readers (links). The following is a list of the top 10 bookmarking sites which you should submit your top articles to:
Digg: Mammoth traffic; tech-focused; savvy users Delicious: Pretty big traffic; somewhat tech/design-focused; a lot of bloggers browse Delicious for “things to link to” Netscape: Pretty big traffic; a mix of topics; less savvy users Stumbleupon: Medium traffic; weird stuff/literary articles; normal users. Yahoo MyWeb: Medium traffic; general interest; normal users Reddit: Lower traffic; politics/random stuff; normal users. Furl: Lower traffic; tech-focused/some random stuff; normal users Newsvine: Lower traffic; politics and news; normal users. Lookmarks: Low traffic; gets spammed a lot; less savvy users Blinklist: Low traffic; gets spammed a lot; less savvy users
Getting networked8. Leave highly valuable comments on other blogs in your niche. Every niche within the blogosphere is made up of a few tightly knit communities. Like all communities, so much of what is actually going on (passing links, giving tips, etc.) is all done behind the scenes through email and IM. As a result, getting integrated into some of the communities in your niche is essential to growing your blog. New bloggers often try to integrate themselves through email solicitations, “Hi my name is Newbie, will you be my friend?…” This rarely works. You need to first make a name for yourself and make yourself valuable to the community. One way is to start commenting on the sites of community members within your niche. By being an initiator of, or contributor to, good conversations on other blogs, other webmasters will come to recognize your name. Note: This takes a bit of finesse, so don’t go around dropping your blog’s URL in the comments themselves. Rather, just type your URL in the URL field and let your ideas speak for the quality of your writing and your site.
9. Reload quickly: Take advantage of your initial launch buzz. A successful blog launch will give you two or three days of buzz (yes, that’s all you’ll get in the blogosphere). During that window, other bloggers in your niche will be checking out your site. Take advantage of those extra visitors by putting up some top-notch content within the first couple of days and updating your site frequently. Many webmasters will stop by during the first week to check out the ‘new kid on the block,’ so make sure they see you at your best. Launch buzz is a unique opportunity to gain easy links with no real extra marketing work, and it will not happen a second time. So don’t waste the opportunity by putting up garbage or sporadic content during your first week.
10. Include tons of outbound links in your posts. As a new blogger, your target audience is other bloggers. They have the links that you need to get to the top of the search engines and to get in front of other readers. So a big key is getting other bloggers in your niche to notice you. A good trick is to use website referrals to your advantage. Almost every blogger checks their site referrals list on a daily or weekly basis (which tells them the last page a visitor was on before they landed on their site). They use this list both to track new links and to see who is talking about their site. By putting a lot of outbound links in your posts to other blogs in your niche, you can start to raise your profile. When your readers click on those links your site will appear in the referrals list of the bloggers you link to. This is free marketing for you. When other bloggers see your site in their referrals list they will often visit your site and are also much more likely to return a link to you.

1. Connect with your readers through an about page and welcome message. One of the best ways to make a lasting impact is to connect on a personal level with your readers. That means letting them know who you are and what your background is. Darren from ProBlogger does this well by including an image of his ugly mug and an ‘about page’ link above the fold. You don’t necessarily need an author pic to relate to your readers, but you should find some way to allow readers to connect with you on a personal as well as a professional level to develop some rapport.
2. Don’t get seen naked: Never launch a blog with fewer than 5 posts. In the blogosphere you typically get just one shot at impressing a visitor or fellow blogger. Too many new bloggers throw up two posts and then start working on promotion. In the world of blogging, you are selling yourself and your writing. If you can’t give people a fully dressed picture of what your blog is all about and what type of writing will be on it, then why should they throw a link your way, or subscribe to your RSS feed? When someone links to you or subscribes they’re giving a vote of confidence that your site is worthwhile, so give them something to grab on to, and let them know your space won’t be “just another abandoned blog.”
RSS & Subscriptions3. Make sure a link to your RSS feed is available above the fold. Though they won’t help your AdSense revenues much, subscribers are the lifeblood of any successful blog. These devotees are often the ones providing you with regular comments, and are far more likely to be webmasters themselves (meaning more links). It should be obvious to anyone launching a blog, but its amazing how many new bloggers do not make a link to their RSS feed readily available. New bloggers often don’t want to devote space on their site to an RSS feed when they could squeeze in a bit more AdSense. While this thinking is understandable, it is simply wrong. The returns of having subscribers are much more valuable because subscribers drive long-term traffic organically, while an additional AdSense block provides at best a marginal short-term gain.
4. Make RSS easier still: Add subscribe links to the most popular newsreaders. Again: we want to make it easy for people to subscribe. No one reads RSS raw. Provide readers with above the fold access to some of the most popular newsreaders such as Bloglines, MyYahoo!, Google Reader, and MyMSN.
5. Offer an email version of your RSS feed. According to Copyblogger, offering an email version of your RSS feed can as much as double your subscribers. We have already covered the reasons why subscribers are essential to a healthy blog (links, comments, buzz). Feedblitz offers this service for free, as does Feedburner. But beyond simply offering the email RSS feed, you need to make sure that signing up for it is easy. A study by Marketing Experiments reveals that reducing the steps to signing up for both your RSS feed and your email subscription will increase signups by over 700%. That means more than 7x the number of repeat readers and over 7x the benefits that subscribers provide to your blog.

blogging

Witnessing the launch of a blog as successful as Performancing’s first two weeks might lead you to think that launching a successful blog is easy… well, it’s NOT. Thousands of new blogs are launched every day, but only a handful ever get read by more than a few hundred people, and even fewer ever make a dollar’s profit. While a site can survive a terrible launch the cost is high, and the truth is, most never recover. With no money coming in, and a readership which can be counted in the dozens, it’s no wonder that the vast majority of bloggers give up and shut down their site within a year.

Data Center

A service that is used to provide a huge amount of electrical equipment that can be either computers or other communication equipment is known as a data center. It is an association that is solely maintained for the purpose of managing or organizing data that is essentially required to be used for daily operations. For example, the data center of a bank would store all detailed information of its customers. All companies have a data center of their own large scale companies may even multiple data centers. For the large cities, the data centers are provided with their own individual data location to prevent theft of data and to maintain security of the important data contained.
The organizations providing the data center service handle the data contained by them with utmost security as it is the lifeline of the company. Therefore the data center organization maintains high level or integrity and provides optimum functionality of the computer environment that it hosts for. This is usually shown by the general layout of the data center.
The data center can cover the area of a room to an entire building depending upon its size. Most of the data are stored in for of racks with corridors provided between them for easy access. The servers that are available vary from 1u servers to huge silos that occupy various tiles stacked upon the floor. Some of the mainframe computers and storage devices are often as big as the racks and are placed next to them. The communications are mostly based on the ip protocol service in most data centers. They are equipped with routers and switches which comprise of the critical components that act as transporters of traffic to the outside world from the servers. Using two or more upstream service providers provide redundancy to the available internet connection. Some of the datacenters run the basic internet and intranet services like email servers, proxy servers, DNS servers etc.
As mentioned earlier, the data that is available in the centers are treated with utmost security. Many network security elements are employed to keep the data safe. Such as firewalls, VpN gateway, Intrusion detection systems to detect malicious activities etc. are incorporated. Common monitoring systems and other such applications are also available. For added security for emergency situations such as failure of communication inside the data center, offsite monitoring systems are also provided.

A Domain Name System or DNS can be considered to be the “address” of a particular source of information (or website) available on the Internet. The most important function of DNS is to provide an interface through which plaintext words which can be understood by human beings i.e. the web address of a particular site is translated into a set of numbers readable by the computer.
DNS is also used to store a lot of information such as lists of mail servers which will accept electronic mails, for a particular domain. DNS is a highly essential component for internet usage as it provides universal redirection service which is based on keyboard operations.
The DNS space consists of a tree of domain names. One or more resource records are a part of a node or a leaf which holds information associated with the domain name. This DNS domain name tree is subdivided into a number of zones. A zone is nothing other than a set of nodes connected together and served by a common DNS nameserver. This process is however authoritative.A resolver is used to look up the information associated with all the nodes. A resolver communicates with a nameserver by sending it various DNS requests, and then analyzing the DNS responses it receives from the nameserver. Resolving is an iterative process which involves looping through multiple DNS nameservers in order to obtain the required information.
DNS is a collection of multiple DNS servers. Each domain and subdomain will have one or more authoritative dedicated DNS servers which possess all information about that domain. The hierarchy of the domains and subdomains is reflected in the hierarchy of the Domain Name System Servers. At the head of the hierarchy tree is the root nameserver. A root nameserver is the server which is queried by the resolver.
The facility of local caching is also available in the DNS resolution process. Caching is the recording of the results of a DNS query for a certain amount of time when a successful answer is obtained. The resolver takes a certain amount of time to cache each DNS response. This time is known as the Time To Live (TTL)an it is the duration a DNS response will remain valid. Such a TTL may range from a few seconds to several days and in very rare cases even weeks.
The DNS is also used for other applications such as :-Hostnames and IP addresses do not always match on a one-to-one basis. Several hostnames may correspond to a single IP address and may be combined with virtual hosting, this allows a single machine to serve many web sites. In an alternative basis a single hostname may correspond to many IP addresses.

It is quite commonplace to observe that in many kinds of markets a particular brand tries to secure the majority of consumers. Such a habit is termed as monopoly. When it comes to the operating systems for personal computers Microsoft is a corporation that is accused of this practice. With its hugely popular Windows family of operating systems Microsoft enjoys a large part of domestic and corporate customer base. However, in recent times certain small contenders have raised their head to give it some serious competition. In the sphere of web servers, the most prevalent operating system is Microsoft Windows 2000, which is touted by the company as a true server class OS. It holds a large share of the server operating systems. But in recent times Linux has risen to a challenging position and it is being considered by many as the proverbial Goliath to counter Microsoft’s monopoly.

Many people believe that Microsoft is the supreme as far as computer system is concerned. However there are serious challenges to the issue now with other hosting services as Linux stepping in. It cannot be denied that even today most people prefer Microsoft to any thing else. However as per the current trend the hosting services as Linux too are gaining immense popularity. What makes this hosting service popular? How does these two systems compare? In the article below we discuss the pros and cons.
Using a Windows OS does not require you to opt for Windows web hosting. Linux is a suitable contender. If you have the technical know how of using your web publishing application and FTP, you can resort to the web host you like. It actually depends on the purpose you want your site to serve. As a matter of fact interactive websites use languages like PHP, Perl or ASP.
For web hosting purposes Linux is said to have more benefits than Windows. It is relatively more steady, secured and efficient and meets the requirements of challenging environments of Web servers. Only if you use Microsoft oriented languages you should resort to Windows. For mainly informative sites Linux is the best choice. But when it comes to having interactive chat sites or databases in your site Windows 2000 is a better choice.
A web address developed for a Linux based server can easily be moved to a Windows based server. The opposite is not so easy. Linux traditionally gives a stable and rock solid foundation to your site. A web site based on Linux hosting usually has superior up-time than its windows counterpart. The Linux, as everyone knows, comes for free or occasionally at a meager distribution rate. This has led to its popularity among cash-stripped users. It bundles many applications with the OS that comes in handy in work and are as reliable as the OS. A Linux based web hosting is more suitable for upgrading and modifying an existing web site since it offers more scalability than Windows.

Bandwidth

Now for all you people who are new at computers you may wonder what a web hosting band width is? How is it measured may be another question in your mind! Well take heart. For we are here to tell you what web hosting band width is all about.
When one starts searching for the most suitable web hosting service the issue that bothers him is the bandwidth of the service. It is indeed a deciding factor to your websites performance as well as success. In plain words, Web hosting bandwidth is the quantity of data transfer that the web site faces. Bandwidth in measured in units called Bits. If you visualize bandwidth as a highway, the term traffic can be visualized as cars on that road.
Bandwidth can mean the data trafficking capacity of the network. Alternatively it can also signify the data limit your web hosting service has allotted you for a time period. Different web hosting services have different policies for their consumers. The reason the hosting company monitors the bandwidth consumption of a site is to restrict it from exceeding the limit. If a web site overuses the bandwidth it will cause a server downfall. A slow loading web site in the web browser is a surefire sign of inadequate bandwidth.
If you are thinking how much of bandwidth is adequate for you, the answer is that it depends on your site’s content and the purpose. For example, a text heavy site will be smaller in size compared to a site rich in audio visual and interactive contents. A hosting bandwidth that is enough for the former can prove to be a bottleneck for the latter. So the larger the download or upload files are, the bigger amount of bandwidth is required. Also remember, even if a visitor does not upload and download any file, the mere loading of the page in his browser window consumes some bandwidth. As a matter of fact most web hosting services measure bandwidth in units of GB. You can make an average estimate by calculating factors like the average number of users per month, average page views, and average page size etc.

Some people say that advertising is everything! Regardless if you have a product, a service, a hobby website or just want to share pictures of your wedding, you have to advertise somehow to get the traffic to your site or blog.
But not all traffic is equal. There are services that can help you drive tons and tons of traffic to your site and it won't do you any good at all because it's not targeted traffic.
Webmasters and marketers that want traffic on their own site. So they most likely won't spend any more time on your page than is required by the little timer these services use and then they are gone again. Even if your site is about these traffic services (this is about the only time you will see very much benefit from using such a tool) you will still have to spend a ton of time just surfing and clicking around to get a real benefit from these programs. Once marketers realized this they switched gears. They started promoting all the different programs to a lot of other marketers to get them in their downlines, so they could get some traffic as a bonus. This became their new focus. The problem is that everyone else did exactly the same thing, so not a lot of people were surfing the internet anymore.here are some tips on how you can generate exactly the traffic you need and bring the visitors you want to your website without having to chase after them

Content
What is your website about? Do you just have a page with a lot of links and not much else? If this is the case, think about adding some content to your website that will be of value to any potential visitors. You could write articles or find articles at one of the many directories that you can reprint on your site. Talk about your experiences in your subject matter. You don't have to put up some kind of resume (although that can work too), but rather try writing about what you are doing, as it relates to your topic of choice. Let's look at the model airplanes again briefly, you could talk or write about the latest plane type you built, how the last time flying your plane went, what challenges you run into or perhaps even post some pictures of your plane or of you flying it.

Forums and bulletin boards.
You could add a forum or bulletin board to your website where your visitors can interact with each other. There are a lot of free services available out there that you can use to either remotely host a forum for you, or even software you can install on your website's server. To find some of these, just head over to your favorite search engine and you will definitely find plenty to choose from. And while you are visiting the search engine, why not run a search for any bulletin boards and forums that are already out there for your chosen topic? You could visit those and interact with the visitors there and since many allow you to post a signature or a profile, you could add a little line about your own site with a link (just check the rules of the forum first so you don't violate any of them).

Start a blog.
Blogs are very popular and search engines love them because they provide constantly new and fresh content. Your blog would be a great place to talk about what you are up to that day. So if you spent some time today buying new parts for your plane you could write about where you found them, how much they cost you, why you chose those parts, anything really goes. The really great part about this is that you can point links from your blog back to your website, so when the search engine stops by to grab and index your latest content, it will also stop by your website and you will start seeing very targeted traffic heading your way

Write articles.
Writing articles isn't hard and can be a great source of fresh, new traffic to your website. There are a lot of ezines on any topic out there and there are also a lot of directories where you can share your article. Basically, what you do is write an article and then add a small resource box that links back to your website (just like a signature) and then let other ezine publishers know that you are allowing them to print your article in their ezine. And many publishers go to the article directories to find new content for their newsletter and even their websites. And since there are websites and ezine newsletters on any imaginable topic out there, you can't lose. Write an article every couple of days and post it in the directories (even one a week or every two weeks will start getting you traffic). Very soon you will find new traffic coming from search engines, newsletters and websites. Best of all, these five simple tips will bring targeted traffic, meaning the visitors are coming to you because they are interested in what you wrote. So there you have it. Whether you have a simple and basic Work at Home Business or a significant Internet Marketing enterprise you can benefit from these five easy and simple ways to advertise and drive traffic to your website at absolutely no cost.

When webmasters have created their final master piece, their next step is to promote, promote and promote. This is a vital step in survival of your website and will increase your sales and visitors. Many webmasters, especially beginners, gets so excited and want to take major steps so that they can get hundreds of visitors next day. Sometimes they try to adopt many illegal ways to promote their website. This causes their website to be banned from major search engines and as well as it is disliked by many people. Conclusively this decreases your website reputation drastically. Its cause is sometime a wrong advice or some people do these steps purposely to increase traffic without knowing its side effects. We will discuss here these website promotion mistakes and we would advice you to never use these techniques if possible.

Never Submit Your Website When Under construction: It is always better to submit your website when it is fully functional. This leaves a real bad impression on directories or search engine, wherever you submit to. If your visitors see a under construction sign, many of them are not going to come again, especially if this sign stays for longer.

Do Not SPAM: Spamming can be of different types. I would concentrate on email spamming now. Never force anyone, by sending them emails, to view your website or product, especially if they have not subscribed for that. There are many offers available on net that you can get thousands of emails list and use it for your advertising. Never trust them whatever they say. You are not going to gain anything; however, you could make more enemies and get your website banned sometimes.

Redirectors: Many websites use redirectors or set their fresh rates too high. It really has a bad effect on search engine ranking. Try to avoid them as much as possible.
Avoid Wrong Methods Of Web page Optimization:Many people still use those old methods to hide text by changing its color with back ground color so making it invisible to see. Do not also try to hide text with layers. This was good enough in 1995 when search engines were in their developing stages. Now they have got quite intelligent to overcome such techniques and give penalty to websites using such technique.

Don’t Create Doorway Pages: Many search engine optimizers did reverse engineering and get lot of knowledge about search engine algorithms. They used this knowledge to create doorway pages or welcome pages or jump pages, which were used to get first 10 positions in search engines. These pages were very well optimized for search engines and ranked very well. That is good if your website is very much dynamic and its pages are not well ranked by search engines. But how could spammers can stay away? Then every spammer used these techniques excessively and conclusively it became difficult for people to get relevant content. Search engines then realized this trend of increasing such vast amount of doorway pages and they penalize those websites now which use these techniques. So I would recommend to never using this method to promote your website.

Don’t Involve in Link Making Schemes: I would recommend you to increase your page rank but not by using unreliable link producing schemes. Search engines have become very choosy about which type of links a website is having. So it is better to never involve in links farms, auto link exchange programs, site networks. Search engines penalize hardly those websites who try to artificially increase their incoming links or suddenly gain so many links in very small amount of time.It is better to get links by legal ways. Get them from quality websites and try your best to inbound links only.

Keyword Frequency: It is always advised that you should not stuff your web page only with key words, instead of using your primary keyword hundreds of times, pay your attention to contents. If you are really so concerned about your keywords then it is better to use different keywords at different places in your website.

Don’t Spend Your Time On Scrap: Sometimes we may have seen websites showing guaranteed no. 1 position in search engines or submit your website to 1500 and plus search engines. They are lire mostly. Because there are only about 10 major search engines which receive about 95% of the internet traffic. All other search engines are smaller ones and get their primary results from major search engines. It is a real wastage of time and money if you are going to use those schemes. Sometimes they also optimize your website in such way that it can even get banned, so be careful.

Don’t Buy Untargeted Traffic: Many websites claim that they will send 10,000 visitors or so. What do you think, will that be targeted traffic and will that traffic change into your potential customers? Think carefully and then decide before choosing any such type of offer.

In this article I will tell you about my top 5 free ways of increasing website traffic. All these methods are completely free and if you spend some time on them you will find that they work consistently.

(1)Writing Articles
Writing an article on a subject related to your website and getting that article published has two major benefits: - People who are interested in your article will read it and often click on the URL in your resource box find out more. This gets you another free targeted visitor. Targeted, because that reader wants to find out more on the subject of your article, which is hopefully related to the subject of your website. - Every publisher of your article must also publish your "resource box". Adding a resource box with your URL to all of your articles will increase the number of links leading back to your website, which in turn helps to increase your search engine position For a list of directories to submit your article to, see Article Submission Directories

(2)Forum
There are many discussion forums on the internet, on every topic you could possibly imagine. Most discussion boards allow posters to attach a "Signature" with their post containing additional information about themselves, such as their name, URL and sometimes even an advertisement. By visiting a few forums regularly and participating in the discussions, asking and answering questions, you can build up trust with other forum members, whilst at the same time getting free exposure for your website. Just try to make a useful contribution to the forum - be sure to read the forum rules and don't spam!

(3)Reciprocal Linking
Reciprocal linking has two main benefits for you. Firstly, the more links that you exchange, the more chance there is that someone will follow a link from another site and land on your website. Secondly, your website will be perceived more importantly by search engines. The more links you have from other sites, the greater your chance of getter ranked more highly by all the search engines. Here are some Dos and Don'ts to help you get more out of your link exchanges. - Do link with sites that will be of interest to your visitors. - Don't link with pages that have unorganised link directories with hundreds of links on each page. This won't benefit you with increased traffic or search engine rankings. - Do link with sites that have a clearly labelled "Link Directory" from their main page. You aren't likely to get much traffic from a hidden or hard to find link directory. - Don't use link farms or FFA pages. You are unlikely to get extra traffic using these methods and the search engines may penalise you. - Do use link directories to help you find link partners. You can find some Link Exchange Resources here- Do stay organised. Use link exchange software, or a spreadsheet to keep track of the link exchanges you have requested and the contact details of the webmasters.

(4) Email Signatures
This is a very simple, but often forgotten way of increasing your website visitors. Most of us are sending lots of emails a day, but many of us just sign them with just our name, or perhaps nothing at all. Instead, why not end your emails with a short signature containing your name, a bit about your website along with the URL? Keep the signature short (4 lines), to the point and avoid hype or SHOUTING. You may be surprised at the extra visitors you receive through doing this. It's amazing how curiosity will lead the recipients of your email to click on your link!

(5)Using Traffic Exchanges
Finally, this is one easy way to guarantee instant hits to your website. You can build up credits for free by surfing or building up a downline to surf for you. The downside of this method is that the visitors you receive from traffic exchanges are not as targeted as the visitors that you will receive via the other methods that I have described. The reason for this is that people surf traffic exchanges for one reason - to earn as many credits as possible in as short a space of time as possible! This gives you a challenge - how do you attract the attention of someone who is looking at your web page for 20 seconds or less? Here are two tips - - Know your market - spend some time surfing on the exchange that you are advertising on and pay attention to the types of web pages being advertised. Make sure that the pages you advertise are going to interest your target market. - Use a short, simple attention grabbing page that can be read in a few seconds - there is no point advertising a huge page of text that takes 5 minutes to read. The chances are, your visitor will get bored and click on the "next" button without giving your page a fair chance. Regularly invest some time in each of these 5 traffic generating methods and you will see your web statistics moving in the upwards direction before you know it.

Many web designers do not pay attention in coding structure, the result is no one can find those websites in search engines!. In many cases search engine spiders cannot crawl 100% of those sites, this is because of huge size, html code error, navigation problem due to using scripts. By following these ten tips while designing and developing your website, you can improve your web presence.
1) Table structure: Nested tables can cause the huge page size and it could be problem with download times. Use separate tables wherever possible. Rather than using tables, use CSS to format your page layouts.
2) Page size: small web pages load faster. Make your page size to below 50K, so that search engine spiders can able to crawl your entire website without having any time delay.
3) Frames: Do not use Frames. Some search engines not even supported frames and it could be some display/alignment problem with some browsers. It could also affect while bookmarking a page. Remember, whatever you are trying to accomplish by using frames can usually be done with CSS.
4) Alt tags: Minimize the use of graphics and Flash. If your site having graphics try to explain those by adding ALT text. Since search engine spiders cannot read text within images, you should provide alternative text, so that spiders can understands what they mean.
5) Navigation: Each pages on your website should be easily connected. Use of JavaScript links and image maps may affect spidering your entire site or you should use text links at the bottom of your page to help search engine spiders to navigate each pages. Try to check your web pages in a text only browser and ensure you can easily navigate all the pages from page to page.
6) Title and Meta tags: Add title and Meta tags to each pages in your site and all title tags and Meta tags should be unique.
7) Sitemap: Provide a sitemap that linked from your homepage. It must be essential if your site having dynamic pages, that contains special characters such as ?,%,&,# etc. As these pages are generated automatically, search engines spiders cannot follow these links.
8) HTML codes: Internet explorer can display your page even if any minor errors in the html code, but it could be a major problem with search engine spiders. I recommend validating your html codes through some online tools that available in the net. By getting W3C standards can give your web pages greater visibility in web searches.
9) Cascading Style Sheets: CSS enables you to independently control the structure of your web page. By using CSS, you will get its benefits like smaller file sizes, browser compatibility and search engine friendly.
10) External CSS/JavaScript files: Call all your JavaScript and CSS from external file, so that spiders can easily access your data without causing any error.

webhosting tips

1. Don't pay for space you don't need and probably won't use. Unless you have a huge amount of graphics on your site or a lot of pages (say 500 or more), you won't need a lot of space.

2. Even if a web host charges less if you pay for a year in advance (or even 6 months), don't do it. Pay the monthly rate until you have been with the web host for a couple of months. That way you can make sure you like them and won't be stuck with them if you don't.

3. Go with a web host that has a money back guarantee or offers you free use of their service for a certain time. That way if their service doesn't live up to what their ads promise, you aren't out any money.

4. Go with a web host that has a high uptime percentage. If your site is down, no one can see it. 100% uptime is unrealistic, but if your web host is down unexpectedly more than once or twice while you are in your trial period with them, it isn't a good sign. Go to another web host. If they are down unexpectedly for a few hours or more even once while you are in your trial period with them, it isn't a good sign. Go to another web host.

5. Go with a web host that has excellent customer service. When you are having a problem, you want help and you want help fast. Don't necessarily believe that just because there's a phone number listed and the web host says it offers 24 hour phone support that they actually do. Some of them don't. Along the same lines, don't rule out a company just because it doesn't provide phone support. Some very good companies only provide e-mail support.
So how do you know which web hosts provide good service and which don't? You can't totally, but there are two things you can do to reduce the risks of signing up with a non-responsive web host. You can get recommendations from others (ahem, our list of best cheap web hosts is a good start ; )) and you can test out the service for yourself.
E-mail the support team of the web host you are interested in with a basic question such as "What are your hours of technical support?" at off hours (evenings or weekends) and see how fast they respond. If you e-mail a web host on Friday night and they don't respond until Monday, it's a bad sign. Don't go with them. Most responsive web hosts will respond within 4 hours of your e-mail between the hours of 8am and midnight. If they don't respond between midnight and 8am I would cut them some slack. If they don't respond within at least 10 hours, regardless of when you send it or what day of the week, look elsewhere.

6. Never go with a web host that owns your domain name. If you are ever unhappy with their service and want to go to another web host, you can't take your domain name with you. It's theirs. Not yours. Most web hosts will host your domain name for you, but this is different than owning it. How can you tell? Ask if you can keep your domain name with your current registrar. If you can, then they don't require ownership.

7. Don't have your web host register your domain name for you. It's cheaper if you register it yourself.

8. Don't transfer control of your domain name to your web host. If you aren't happy with your web host, you will have to wait on them to release your domain to you before you can go to another web host. Occasionally web hosts have been known to drag their feet on this. If you register the domain name yourself, it's cheaper and you have total control over it at all times.

prevent indexing

To avoid undesirable content in the search indexes, webmasters can instruct spiders not to crawl certain files or directories through the standard robots.txt file in the root directory of the domain. Additionally, a page can be explicitly excluded from a search engine's database by using a meta tag specific to robots. When a search engine visits a site, the robots.txt located in the root directory is the first file crawled. The robots.txt file is then parsed, and will instruct the robot as to which pages are not to be crawled. As a search engine crawler may keep a cached copy of this file, it may on occasion crawl pages a webmaster does not wish crawled. Pages typically prevented from being crawled include login specific pages such as shopping carts and user-specific content such as search results from internal searches. In March 2007, Google warned webmasters that they should prevent indexing of internal search results because those pages are considered search spam

getting indexed

The leading search engines, Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Pages that are linked from other search engine indexed pages do not need to be submitted because they are found automatically. Some search engines, notably Yahoo!, operate a paid submission service that guarantee crawling for either a set fee or cost per click.Such programs usually guarantee inclusion in the database, but do not guarantee specific ranking within the search results. Yahoo's paid inclusion program has drawn criticism from advertisers and competitors. Two major directories, the Yahoo Directory and the Open Directory Project both require manual submission and human editorial review.Google offers Google Sitemaps, for which an XML type feed can be created and submitted for free to ensure that all pages are found, especially pages that aren't discoverable by automatically following links.
Search engine crawlers may look at a number of different factors when crawling a site. Not every page is indexed by the search engines. Distance of pages from the root directory of a site may also be a factor in whether or not pages get crawled

SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" search results for targeted keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks", the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines

Name that domain

Whether creating new domains or acquiring existing ones, the current trend (which doesn’t show signs of changing) is to stay away from those domains that have digits and/or hyphens, as both naming schematics devalue a domain. The only exceptions are specific 3- and 4-digit domain names, most of which are all taken

If you’re holding domains for longer than a year, it’s a very good idea to have them all set to auto-renew. Make sure all of your contact info is correct and updated, and if necessary, change registrars. Whatever source of funds (credit card, PayPal) you use to pay for auto-renew should always have enough in extra funds so that in case you miss the notices, you’re still able to avoid auto-cancellations, which usually cost more to get back than a new registration

Bootstrapping isn’t so much a single fundraising technique, as it is a ‘do it yourself’ mindset of leveraging what you earn back into growing your business. Entrepreneurs engaged in bootstrapping take very little of the company profits out of their business early on, and instead use those funds in lieu of a formal bank loan or venture capital. If you are anxious to quickly expand your domaining portfolio and can afford to live without the immediate profits, consider leaving all or most of your profits in the business to leverage new purchases. Bootstrapping is the poor entrepreneur’s way to compete against larger competitors, because by reinvesting their gross profits back into the business, bootstrappers gain a return which is functionally equivalent to compound interest

Brute Force

Automated Domain Research Tools (DRT’s) allow you to sift through millions of available domains to find the few thousand that you might be interested in buying. But getting from those thousand to identifying the few specific domains you want to purchase can often be accomplished only through brute force. By “brute force” we refer to the most common domaining technique, which involves the use of a compilation of different manual research tools to identify the most lucrative domains. Each tool listed in this category simply helps to facilitate the process of manually going through and examining each potential domain on an individual basis (thus the “brute force” moniker). While it is impractical to cover every sort of tool that would fall into the “brute force” category, we have compiled a few of the most common tools to get you started.

AjaxWhois: is a convenient web2.0 domain search engine that executes multiple Top-Level Domain (TLD) queries on a root domain name. This can be a time-saver if you already have a specific root domain name in mind to purchase.

dnScoop provides a variety of information about a domain, including whois, traffic, domain history and popularity, appraisal, pagerank check, inbound links and more.

DigitalPoint is a set of webmaster tools geared more for websites and SEO’s, but which also provides some helpful tools such as a keyword recommendation tool which can help you come up with new domain ideas and word combinations.

DomainState tools is a suite of browser-based domaining tools and links to trademark databases.

Domain Tools has a suite of useful tools for domainers, including domain history, reverse IP (to see what other websites are hosted on an IP), DNS tools (whois, traceroute, etc.), domain monitor, and more.

PagerankPredict is a very simple tool that gives you a predicted Google pagerank for a domain. This tool is handy if you plan to build out a domain with content. It is also free, but the site limits you to 5 queries per hour.

SearchStatus is a robust SEO, SEM and domaining tool that works as a plugin for the Firefox browser. It will enable you to quickly get an overview of a potential purchase as well as a look and what backlinks are powering your competitors’ sites.

The next strategy, automated volume buying, is simply that; using an application to automatically search for available domains that meet your pre-set criteria, and purchasing the domains that result from the search. Automated volume buying requires, first and foremost, an excellent application to accept your search criteria and conduct the searches. While there are a number of domain research tools available for purchase, many top domainers use a customized version. No matter which volume buying tool you’re using, however, they all work in roughly the same way by allowing you to search WHOIS servers and filter results by keywords, Overture price ranges, search engine results, etc. So, for example, you could filter your potential domains by those that have a minimum of 1000 keyword searches per month and which yielded more than a top bid of $1.00 on Overture. While it is certainly true that now that more people are using automated volume buying tools the easiest bargains are usually taken, domainers can still find a good haul of cheap .com’s as long as they stay ahead of the curve by getting creative with their filter criteria.

While the trademark typo domain loophole has closed, a very legitimate and ethical domaining technique is pursuing keyword typo domains. Keyword typo domains (e.g., loans.com) can bring in a good deal of type-in traffic and are often significantly undervalued. While normally these aren’t the type of domains that someone would want to build a high-value company around (though typo domain Voyuer.com went for $112,000 in 2005), smaller individual webmasters are always in the market for targeted type-in traffic, so these sites are often in high demand among small-time domain purchasers.

One of the original domainer buying strategies was to hunt for any trademarked names that hadn’t yet been purchased, and failing that, to purchase typos of those domains. These trademark typo domains often yielded a lot of type-in traffic, and because e-commerce law hadn’t yet developed to its current state, companies would often buy out these domainers at very inflated prices. But if you’re thinking about getting into trademark typo domaining, the ship has sailed. Current trademark law treats domainers that are seeing lots of traffic from a typo domain, and don’t otherwise have a legitimate business use for owning the name, as illegal trademark diluters. As such, trademark typo domainers typically have to turn over the domain to the trademark holder with little or no compensation. Simply stated, avoid the trademark typo strategy altogether.

website templates

A web template is an element of a web template system that is used to rapidly generate and mass-produce web pages through a pre-defined schematic, layout, or finite number of programming language instructions. In its simplest sense, a web template operates similarly to a form letter. One of the primary design principles used to justify the use of web templates is the "separation of presentation and content".
here's some tips on choosing the right template for ur site

layout:

If you want to save money on your template, then think first about the layout of it's elements. Do you like where the menu is positioned? Do you like the module positions? Is the content area appropriate for your purposes? The color scheme is also important, but with a little bit of work (learning CSS basics and figuring out image editing) you can tweak that yourself. Start off your template choosing process by laying out where you want the elements of your website to fall.

content:

Even though the design of a site is important, it's content is more so. So, when you're choosing a template, try to think of it working as a catalyst for your content. Sure, a good design is pretty, but does it work for the content you have? For example, if you will have a site that showcases good writing, you want to make sure your content is comfotable to read. A dark theme or one with text lacking contrast will defeat your purpose.

templates and SEO:

Can a template harm your rankings in search engines? Sometimes, yes. Nowadays, search engines appreciate code that is clean, simple and straightforward. Too many funky elements often require complicated code. Keep it simple and the search engines will reward you.

template vs brand:

A good template is useless if your site's branding doesn't match with it. You need to make sure your template conveys the same values as your brand.

domain

A name that identifies a computer or computers on the internet. These names appear as a component of a Web site's URL, e.g. www.namepro.co.in . This type of domain name is also called a hostname.

URL: http://www.example.net/index.html
Domain name: www.example.net

website

A Web site is a collection of Web pages, images, videos or other digital assets that is hosted on one or several Web server(s), usually accessible via the Internet, cell phone or a LAN.
A Web page is a document, typically written in HTML, that is almost always accessible via HTTP, a protocol that transfers information from the Web server to display in the user's Web browser.
